Dr. Tyson Radons spent thirteen years in uniform and more than two hundred crisis negotiations before he earned his doctorate. He has built wellness programs from inside police departments and sat with responders through the worst days of their lives. He knows the job from the inside, and he knows what it costs. That is who is leading the team.
"I know what it is to carry it. You will not have to explain the job to me."

No cost. No copay. Unlimited support.
As the Colorado FOP's Director of Wellness, Dr. Radons helped establish free individual and couples therapy for members. It is a benefit you have earned in a career where you put so much on the line.
It is the first question almost everyone asks. You deserve a straight answer, not a slogan. Here is exactly how it works.
To cover your sessions, the Colorado FOP receives a code confirming you used the benefit. They do not receive your records, your diagnosis, or anything you say in the room.
Your care is completely separate from your agency. We reach out to your department only if you personally ask us to.
We are only required to say something that happens in session if the law explicitly requires us to, and that happens only in rare and extreme circumstances, most often when a life is on the line. Beyond that, our goal at TFR is to honor and respect the vulnerability you bring to therapy, and to never breach that trust.

You should not have to teach your therapist what a bad call feels like, or why you crack a dark joke to carry it. Both of our clinicians did the work first.
Thirteen years in uniform. More than two hundred crisis negotiations. Licensed Psychologist, and provider for the Colorado FOP.
Served as a police officer and a U.S. Air Force veteran, now training as a clinician to offer the support he once needed. He's in your corner.

"Functioning is not the same as being okay."
The job follows you home and shuts things down. We help you find new ways to stay close when the work keeps pulling you apart.
"Being loved is great. Being understood is profound."
Cops do not want to get on the horn and explain their problem to a stranger. You do not have to. You self-schedule directly.
